When we receive your details through our contact us form, we will be in touch to discuss how we can help, book you a survey or arrange an estimated quotation for you.
We are located in Horndean, where we make all our doors, complete the spray finishing and prepare your door ready for installation.
We use European oak and Accoya timber to make our front doors.
Oak
European oak is a popular choice for making front doors due to its durability and natural beauty. We recommend that Oak doors are better preserved if there is a porch to help protect it from the elements. Additionally, European oak is known for its unique grain patterns and warm, rich colouring, which can add character and charm to any home.
European oak front door's can be a beautiful and functional addition to any home, providing both aesthetic appeal and practical benefits such as security and energy efficiency.
Accoya
Accoya is a type of treated wood that is highly durable and resistant to decay. It is created through a process called acetylation, which involves treating the wood with acetic anhydride. This process changes the chemical structure of the wood, making it more stable and less prone to swelling or shrinking when exposed to moisture.
Accoya wood is also resistant to insects, fungi, and other pests that can damage traditional wood. This makes it an excellent choice for external doors and frames.
In addition to its durability, Accoya wood is also environmentally friendly. The acetylation process used to create it is non-toxic and does not produce harmful by-products. The wood is sourced from sustainable forests, making it a renewable resource.
Overall, Accoya wood is an excellent choice for those looking for a durable, long-lasting, and sustainable wood product for their construction projects.
We always ensure that we are using the best ironmongery available. For Multipoint locks we use Tornado locks which are PAS24 and come with a 10 year guarantee. These locks can be used on any of our doors, with a multipoint lock available for French doors and Stable doors.
For 1930's doors, some customers prefer a deadlock and night latch. The lock conforms to British Standard 3621:2007 (BS EN 12209) and meets the tough criteria/requirements laid down by insurance companies and the police.
There are a large range of handles available on the market, but not all handles are compatible with every lock option, but our team are on hand to help you.
We have created a catalogue of some of our most popular ironmongery items to help inspire you!
Spray finishing is the best option for achieving a professional finish on your doors.
Spray finishing is a popular method for painting doors, as it provides a smooth and even finish. There are several steps we take to ensure that each door has the best finish, including preparing the surface by sanding it down and cleaning it thoroughly before the first undercoat of paint. We complete door preparation stages between each coat of paint, which is 3-4 coats in total. This will ensure that the paint adheres properly and the finish is even.
We purchase our paint from a Family run company who are specialists in external paint, Originally formed in 1898.
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We cannot bill your insurance, but we will provide all the documentation that you need to file for reimbursement.
We currently don't have a show room, however we always welcome visitors to meet us at our workshop. On your visit we can show you doors we are working on and show you examples of different ironmongery options available and answer any questions that you have.
We advise that there is around a 6-8 week lead time from booking your door in with us, this will allow plenty of time for your door to be made and finished in your chosen paint colour allowing plenty of drying time before we install your door. We will arrange an installation date at the time of booking.
